I was scared these wouldn't turn out right because I forgot to put the eggs and vanilla in until after I'd mixed in the flour, which made it very difficult to be thorough...but despite my mistake, these still came out perfect. My mother was pleasantly surprised to see that the butter didn't make them flat like usual (she prefers to use butter Crisco), and I'm glad they didn't turn out too cakey like soft cookies tend to. Very fluffy and buttery. I prefer big cookies, so I rolled them up in larger balls (I guess about 2 inches?) and flattened them slightly, and started with 9 minutes of baking, adding a minute and 30 seconds if they weren't browned on the edges...most of them took about 11 minutes to be perfect.
