About this Cook
My name is Heather and I am a 26 year old stay-at-home mom. I have 2 little boys who are 2 and 3. I've always been interested in cooking and eating healthier but once my boys came, I became really interested. I really enjoy making a hearty and healthy meal but what makes it all worth the while is when my family enjoys what I've made. My husband and my youngest son will eat just about anything, but my older son is a little picky. Life can't ALWAYS be healthy so my sons and I LOVE to make cookies :-) They pour all the ingredients in for me and they absolutely love it!
My favorite things to cook
Cookies... cookies...cookies...did I mention cookies??? I definetly like to bake more than anything. But I really enjoy baking for others. If I have baked goods in the house... they won't stick around too long :-/ I really enjoy trying to make a baked good healthier. I add whole wheat flour, flaxseed, or ground up nuts. I have an oatmeal cookie that is borderline good for you, AND tastes so good.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite and only family cooking tradition I have so far is pancakes and french toast on Saturday mornings. We all sit down at the table and eat together which is really important to me. I've just begun to cook so I hope I can create many family traditions that my family will cherish.
My cooking triumphs
My only cooking triumph so far is sugar cookies. I've made wuite a few recipes from AR and I created my own little recipe from all the different ones I've made and I think they are pretty darn good. Hopefully I can add to this in the years to come.
My cooking tragedies
I don't think there is enough room in this little box to type my cooking tragedies. Like I said... I've just begun and it wasn't a pretty start ;-) I have learned to stay by the oven when baking cookies, that's for sure. I've had way too many charcoal cookies!

Easy Iced Coffee
This was great! I added a tiny bit more sugar because I like these drinks sweet. I added a couple squirts of dulce de leche syrup too, well, because I like things sweet :-) Thanks for sharing! I just saved $4 something instead of cruising to Starbucks.

Megan's Granola
This is great granola. I replaced the vegetable oil with coconut oil. The result is very rustic tasting. I don't think it was too sweet at all. I made 1/2 the amount called for to try it out first. I am glad I did because I burned it. I put the two cookie sheets side by side on the same rack and the sides were touching the oven... Big no no. It was burned in 7 minutes. I redid it without it touching the oven and it turned out great.

Cream Puffs
So easy and so yummy! I followed the recipe to a "T" and they came out perfect. I didn't poke a hole in them, they didn't deflate at all. Thanks for sharing :-)
