About this Cook
I love to cook for my wonderful girlfriend(soon to be wife) and my kids. I have 2 teenage boys that really love the open it and eat it stuff. I find it a challenge to see if they like some of my more "exotic" dishes. My love of my life she loves just about anything I try to make.
My favorite things to cook
Anything not simple. Love flavours but, my favorite has to be pasta. It is so versatile. You can make it cold or hot. Bake it or fry it. It really takes on the taste of the dish. Being it sweet, spicy, meaty, etc.
My favorite family cooking traditions
LOL!!My girlfriend and I laugh about stuff like this. Whenever we make a dish or just her or I and it isnt the standard fare. We laugh and say we love it but, our parents wouldn't. So my family traditions are usually bland and simple. I just can't get over why I love them when my mom cooks them though. Must be reminiscing.
My cooking triumphs
Making gnocci. I have made it from many boxed or frozen varities but, never tried it from scratch. Well I have made once so far that way and it turned out alright. My girlfriend loved it but, I can do better but, atleast I made it and it was edible!!!
My cooking tragedies
Bread making...... I have made some REALLY good breads but, have made some HORRIBLE ones as well. Getting better but, still need to improve!

Quinoa with Peas and Parmesan
My fiance and I loved this!!!!! I did some little tweaks to it though. I didn't have any coconut oil so I used olive oil instead and I used fat free condesned milk. I also used tomatoes with chopped chiles to give it a little extra kick. I also shredded some baby carrots into the veggies as well. I also used chicken stock instead of the veggie stock. I will make this again!

Easy Spiced Brown Rice With Corn
This was a good dish but, I have had better. Took note of all the water and cook time and added tabasco sauce to kick it up a bit and I also added green peppers. Was good and had it a gone at the end of dinner but, I will try some more things with this dish.
