I'm a Grandma of 2 boys and we cook every time they come to visit. Their Dad cooks breakfast and the boys brings it to me in bed. To bad they don't to visit more often. It's only my husband and I now so I don't cook as much as I used to, but I make up for that by cooking for the local Elks Lodge (I'm an Emblem Club P.P.) and we love to cook dinner for our Elks on their meeting nights. And now that I am almost 52 I am also a Red Hatter and love it.
My favorite things to cook
Grandma's German Pancke (love to have this for dinner),and Grandma's Corn Fritter's
My favorite family cooking traditions
That would have to be my mom's Thanksgiving Stuffing (nothing better then mom's)
My cooking triumphs
7th grade a Harvey Wall Banger Cake... hehe made it look like SANTA, yes it was Holiday time and I made it at home for my cooking class at school. And my mother was not to happy when she found out the cost. She could of killed me. But I got an A+ and my friends and I enjoyed the cake at lunch.
My cooking tragedies
A cake for my mom and dad's annv. can't even remember what one it was for now, too many years ago. But it was to be a triple cake and tall and the whole thing stacked together only was about 2 inches and we could only eat the middle if I'm right. I remember they said nice try and mom and dad passing out the center of the cake (once they cut thru the outer edge of the cake)... Life was fun and I guess still is
