I got my love for cooking and baking from both of my grandmothers. They taught me the basics and would give me little tips. I am still learning something new everyday. I love to read. I will sit out on my deck on a nice day for hours just reading. It relaxes me when nothing else will. I love to bake. Cakes and brownies are my favorite things to make and I am always willing to try new and interesting ideas on the old favorites. In my family it was always the big Thankgiving dinner or Christmas dinners. It was the one time my entire family was able to get together and enjoy each other's company. My triumphs are simple. When I make something for the first time and I see smiles on everybody's faces. I found a recipe for lavender butter cookies. I was something I had never heard of so I thought I would give it a chance. I was so bad my dogs wouldn't even touch them. There was also the cream puff disaster. I haven't made them since. I'm still traumatized by the embarrassment. Just kidding. I'll try them again one day.
