About this Cook
I love to cook and could spend hours on this website reading recipes and comments. I really love the way being in my kitchen helps me to relax my mind and to be creative. I pretty much like to put my own special something or touch into everything I cook and do in life. I am trying to learn to do more cooking from scratch which isn't as hard as you think.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook mostly healthy but it is hard when your husband is a meat and potato kind of guy but I do get some things by him. I love to make homemade alfredo sauce and incorporate some delicious vegies into my dish. I love to cook a Chuck Roast in my dutch oven. Man is that ever the best! I really love to making casseroles and my husband loves it as well because he gets a good lunch the next day.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I didn't have a whole lot of interest in the kitchen when I was growing up so I really lacked in the participation which is very unfortunate as my Mother passed away several years ago so I can't really say I learned much in the kitchen from my Mom but I sure learned love and compassion from her.
My cooking triumphs
My Chuck Roast in the dutch oven is one our favorites it is simple, inexpensive and delicious which are three really great things in a recipe. I also have this roast I do in the crock pot that is to die for too! I make a good cesear chicken salad and some killer casseroles.
My cooking tragedies
I have lots but this one time I was making some kind of mexican casserole and I thought I was putting chilli powder when I was putting ceyenne pepper and didn't realize it until we took the first bit. OMG! I also burn myself almost everytime I use the oven. Ouch!

Country Apple Dumplings
Instead of pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving desert I made these. They were incredibly delicious. I used half the sugar and butter that the recipe called for and they turned out perfect!!!

Cornbread Casserole
I really enjoyed this recipe!! It is so sweet that it could almost be a desert and it it so easy to make.

Tangy Slow Cooker Pork Roast
I never have to much luck with pork roasts for some reason but this one turned out real tender and juicy. Before serving I pulled it apart into big chunky pieces and threw it in the oven with some bbq sauce to perk the flavor up at bit. My husband really liked it and he is not a big pork fan.
