Bill's Sausage Gravy

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2009
Made this because my husband loves biscuits and gravy. I don't actually like sausage gravy normally but this was great! Hubby, kids, and I love this! Did everything in one pan and didn't remove sausage followed recipe exact and came out excellent and very easy too.

Mmm-Mmm Better Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
These brownies just came out of the oven and they are excellent. Way better than boxed. I like to make homeade recipes like this one so I know what ingredients I'm giving my family. I doubled the batch and I even added milled flax seed so that way a sweet treat can also be packed with omega-3. Thanks for this recipe

Cucumber and Blue Cheese Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2009
I love this salad. When I first made this salad I was just putting together veggies and flavors that I love and I think that the vinegar and blue cheese compliment each other well. I do add salt and pepper to mine, I don't know why I left it out when I wrote the recipe. I don't add oil because I was making a salad with no fat and sometimes I don't like oil in my salad dressing. Hope you enjoy as much as I do.

Garlic Cheese Chicken Rollups

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2008
These are delicious! This recipe is a keeper. This dish is so easy to make. I used chicken breast tenderloins and didn't pound down the meat at all and they rolled up fine. Used cream cheese like other reviewers mixed with garlic and onion powder and dried parsley. Chicken turned out perfect, very moist and tender.

Sirloin Tips and Mushrooms

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2008
Sorry, I just didn't care for this. Not enough flavor alone with these ingredients. I ended up adding a whole bunch of other stuff to this so that the family would eat it. When cooking this kind of meat it is good to cook in the crockpot all day so the meat will just melt in your mouth.

Quesadilla Jalapeno Spread

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2008
This is very good and close to the zesty jalapeno sauce at Taco Bell. I felt like the sugar was to much and I will leave that out next time I make it. I'm crazy about the sauce at Taco Bell and always order extra and then some on the side. I really think that if you leave out the sugar or maybe add just a pinch that it would be right on the nose for the actuall flavor of the Taco Bell sauce. Thanks so much for this recipe now I can enjoy this at home with all my Mexican dishes.

Chicken a la Mayo

Really good, will be using this recipe more often. I substituted bran flakes for the corn flakes and I used fresh dill in the mayo. My kids loved this also. No leftovers!

Peach Crisp III

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2008
This was okay for me. The peaches were to tart. I guess I will have to add sugar directly to the peaches itself next time. The crisp topping was pretty good, but did not like how the spices on top burnt. I made this with frozen peaches that I thawed in the micro and then drained. It worked just fine this way. I think this recipe would be a 4 star if you just add a little more sugar and mixed the spices in with the oat mix. Thats just my opinion, I just like it sweet!

Sweet and Sour Meatballs II

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2008
These are really nummy! I did add garlic powder and italian seasoning to the meat mix and instead of chopped onion I used onion powder. I wanted a soft texture. I prefer these meatballs over store bought anyday. It takes a little time to prepare and individually roll, but I think it's worth it. The sauce was great too and really completes this dish. I think the flavor of these is even better reheated the next day. I will be making these again and again.

Best No-Bake Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2008
This is a great cheesecake. It does not have the same texture as real baked cheesecake but I found it to be firm enough and hold it's shape. The graham cracker crust was absolutely delicious. I found this recipe to be easy enough to make. To hurry up the process of making this dish I softened up my cream cheese in the microwave carefully so it would be soft enough to whip up, instead of waiting all day for it to become soft. I would have given this cheesecake 5 stars but the heavy whipping cream does give a whipping cream after taste in your mouth and that was the only thing that bothered me. I found that pouring cherry pie filling over it helped cover up this taste. My husband loved this and would eat it everyday if he could. He is not easy to please all the time with food so I was glad to hear that this is a keeper!

Eggplant Tomato Bake

Reviewed: May 14, 2008
This was good but I didn't care for the eggplant in it. I did however love everything else and would make this again but leave out eggplant. Then I guess it would just be a tomato bake. I did add mozzerella cheese to it because I love cheese. Didn't realize I was out of angel hair pasta so I used elbow pasta instead and I felt like that was a good match, it worked for me and the kids.

Taco Lasagna

Reviewed: May 14, 2008
This dish is great. Followed recipe exact but only added half cayene pepper, for the kids sake and found it to have just enough spice. We ate corn on the side with this and my corn got mixed into the taco lasagna and it was really good. So next time I will add a can of corn to the beef mixture. I loved the flavor and so did the family. I will make this on a regular basis.

Grilled Salmon I

Reviewed: May 14, 2008
This was delicious! Will be making this again. Made this dish for Mother's Day and it was a huge hit. We all felt that eating the salmon this way was better than going to a restaurant. I did marinate the salmon over night and feel like if it hadn't been it wouldn't have been as flavorfull. Marinate for atleast 12 hours. I actually use almost this same marinade. Increase all ing. to 1 cup, leave out oil and lemon pepper and add a roast that is thinly sliced, marinate from 12-24 hours then grill. Yummy

Addictive Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: May 13, 2008
These are only a four because they're a little thick and not what I expected but these muffins are still good. I topped the muffins with a cream cheese frosting and that makes them taste 5 stars. I might make these again and play with ing. to see if they won't turn out so dense.

Guacamole Cilantro Lime Cheeseburger

This was very good. I followed directions exact and I thought the hamburger patties were delicious. The guacamole was good too but I felt it was really to much garlic. So next time I will tone it down a bit.

Slovak Stuffed Cabbage

Reviewed: May 7, 2008
This is simply the best stuffed cabbage I have ever had. I made this taking a big risk because I have 4 young kids and I know they're not huge fans of cabbage but I myself love it and wanted to try making this recipe myself. Anyways it was a huge hit they gobbled it down. I found this recipe to be fairly simple. Instead of boiling a full head of cabbage all together I seperated each leaf carefully and put in boiling water and they were done fast. I also fried the bacon up first and then sauted onions and garlic in the bacon fat and then drained before adding to the meat mix, I did also add a little worcestershire sauce for my own personal taste, and I didn't need to add the water. There was plenty of liquid before and after cooking. Also used white rice as I didn't have any brown. I was a little worried if I should cover this while baking in the oven but since it didn't mention in the directions I didn't and it cooked well. Love this dish!

Sweet and Sour Chicken Nuggets

Reviewed: May 6, 2008
I'm giving the chicken nuggets 5 stars, they are so good. I think this chicken would be great as a chicken strip also. I didn't use this recipe for the sweet and sour sauce because I wanted to try another that I had found.
