Happy Black Friday! Yesterday was such a pleasant busy day as we traveled 150 miles to our youngest daughters house. I came bearing the gifts of: a turkey, crockpot dressing and fried pies, thanks to All Recipes. The turkey, a big fella, laid in a bath of AR's Citrus Brine for a day. He… MORE

It was so much fun playing Food Game a couple of weeks ago, that I decided to take a suggestion and play it with another twist. This time if you can name a food, name a recipe from All Recipes to correspond with the food or ingedient you named. I will name the first food. Take the last letter,… MORE

I didn't get off of work tonight until after 5 p.m. I had good intentions. I was going to make sour cream pork chops from All Recipes, but boy was I tired. When I got home I went into my kitchen and washed up the dishes. I had done a bit of grocery shopping on my lunch hour and… MORE

We all need helpful hints in our households. Here are a few!    Peel a banana from the bottom and you won't  have to pick the little  "stringy things" off of it. That's how the  primates do  it.  Take your bananas apart when you get  hom MORE

I have always loved food,  both cooking it and eating it. When growing up, we lived with my grandma and grandpa who were both from the "hills." Grandma cooked things like thick slices of ham, redeye gravy, fried taters, and biscuits. I have had a lot of funny cooking experiences and a lot… MORE

About Me
I am married and work as a news reporter for a small paper. I love food and cooking. My favorite item to read besides the newspaper are cookbooks. I have four grown children and nine grandchildren.
My favorite things to cook
Any kind of chicken recipe, hamburger, pasta, vegetables, casseroles. Especially like any kind of slow cooker recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I have always liked to cook. If I am upset or simply want to be by myself, I chase everyone out of the kitchen and begin creating. I like trying any new recipe from All Recipes and am a big fan of the Food Network. Faves are Paula Deen, Rachael Ray, Sandra Lee, and Ina Gartner.
My cooking triumphs
I have a simple tasty recipe for noodles. I have to make these for everything. They are a big hit and easy to make. My church, family, and friends ask me to bring these to every event. My crockpot dressing is out of this world, my Whistling Dixie chili and more.
My cooking tragedies
One time I made a cheese/beer soup. It was horrid. My whole house smelled like a bar. Another time I put navy beans in a pressure cooker and they blew up and hit the ceiling. Another time I lost a bracelet while making custard and someone found it as they were eating!
