About this Cook
I live and breath horses, plus I am a full-time student, and I work. Unfortunately, that doesn't leave a lot of time for cooking! I live with some college friends, and I'm "mom". So I usually have to come up with something to fix for dinner that will be good for everyone, but not take too much energy or money! It gets to be a challenge sometimes, but I think I've got it down to an art!
My favorite things to cook
I cook a TON of chicken and beef. There is just so much variety I love it! I love to cook in the slow cooker, cuz I can forget about it, and its done by the time I get home. Plus, the house smells great!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom's Shepard's Pie is awesome! My grandma makes amazing sloppy joe's, and my dad makes glazed ribs that have gotten to the point that when he makes them, we have to try to keep it a secret of else we get all kinds of unexpected dinner guests!!!
My cooking triumphs
I made a gourmet spinach and cheese stuffed chicken once. It was so hard, but it turned out great!
My cooking tragedies
I spent almost three hours total one night preparing and simmering nearly a gallon of homemade meat sauce for spaghetti one night that was going to be dinner for all six of us. When it was done, I let it sit on the stove to cool before I served it. I walked into the kitchen to find my 5 month old kitten had managed to get up on the counter and was happily lapping up the sauce directly from the pot!!!
