Me & The Husband
About this Cook
Being a stay at home Mother of three I don't always have as much time as I'd like to throw together something for dinner. I'm used to picky eaters but love throwing it out there for them to try anyway. My kids love their fruits and veggies so I try to incorporate those into what I cook. Now if I could just get my Husband to be less choosy about trying things...
My favorite things to cook
Baked Goods, Anything Italian, Slow Cooker Meals, Cute Kid-Friendly Snacks....just about everything! I've been dabbling around in the candies section, trying to decide which recipe I want to give a whirl first....
My favorite family cooking traditions
Ever since I can remember my Great-Grandmother and my Grandmother have slaved three days straight to prepare both Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner for our large family. My Great-Grandma passed away a few years ago and my Grandmother has since had a stroke and developed back problems. For the past few years it has been my Sister and I who slave over the stove pre-holiday time. We are carrying on the tradition I valued so much as a kid, and we get just as many raves as they did, but the ones from Grandma mean the most!
My cooking triumphs
Just becoming a better more experienced cook is a triumph it's self. I have the palate of a child...I only eat certain meats, veggies, etc, and am always looking to find new ways to cook them!
My cooking tragedies
ughhh....too many to mention....I'm good, but I'm not perfect...lol

Rolled Buttercream Fondant
Havin never eaten fondant it was hard for me to determine what kind of rating I should give this recipe. I rated it according to ease and instructions. I had no problem whatsoever making this. I have never made fondant before and wasn't sure I could pull it off! I did though, and tinted it using the wilton icing tints. It turned out great!! I can't wait for the cakes to cool so I can put the fondant on them!! Thanks for a great recipe I'm sure I will use quite often!! :) Even if it did burn up my mixer.... :(

Cake Balls
I followed the directions EXACTLY. They did not turn out like I hoped. It was like biting into a pre-chewed piece of cake. Complete waste of time and ingredients!

Bake Sale Lemon Bars
I followed the directions dilligently and these were not very good. I was baking for a bakesale and after several batches they were either too hard or too soft. The lemony taste was good but with it's inability to produce consistant results I'm afraid I wont be making it again....
