I am in my early 20's and I have loved to cook and bake for several years! I think I was nine or ten the first time I baked cookies by myself. When I'm not in the kitchen, I enjoy knitting, crocheting, reading, and blogging. The real love of my life is my savior, Jesus Christ.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook include chili, quick breads, brownies, pies, cookies, soups, and puddings. The best part about chili is that it is so versatile--no two batches ever turn out the same!
My cooking tragedies
The first (and only) time that I tried making Vanilla Cream Pie, I didn't cook the pudding part long enough, so my meringue (sp) topping fell apart. It was more like soup than pie; and we were having company that night!

Parmesan Chicken I
This recipe only gets a four, because it tasted like something was missing--I don't know what. The problem might have been my own, though; I used three smallish and three large chicken breasts, and it seemed like too much chicken. However, I shall be making this again. Putting it in the slow cooker in the morning made evening meal preparations as easy as making a side salad! One more thing: I used uncooked brown rice and it turned out wonderfully! The only cooking issue I had was that things stuck to the bottom and sides of the pot.

Cheater Pancake Syrup
Although this is not the recipe we use, I love homemade syrup! I recently learned that covering the syrup and boiling about a minute reduces the chance of your syrup crystalizing.

Lemon Poppy Seed Amish Friendship Bread
This is by far my favorite Friendship bread variation! My sister and I just love it--but I never use cinnamon.
