I am a newlywed (married 1 and 1/2 years) and a new mom (5 months) who is still trying to get used to having to cook all the time. My mom did all the cooking when I was still at home. Anything that can be combined and cooked together (soups, stews, casseroles, etc.), especially in the slow cooker. Thanksgiving morning, my mom cooks the turkey, ham, and yams, and my aunt makes greens and sweet potato and pumpkin pie from scratch. Making a juicy steak (not tough) and delicious chicken tortilla soup. I also make pretty good gumbo and jambalaya. I haven't branched out enough yet, but I'm sure it will happen soon enough.
