A gay man living on the beachside in Daytona Beach. I love to cook for my extended family and friends. I have called the "Marie Barone" of Daytona. You always smell food cooking in my house. You hungry? No? OK I'll make you something!
My favorite things to cook
Italian Dishes. (I Lived in Italy for a while and learned a lot from Italian Nun's) I love to Bake, make my own bread. I make all kinds of cakes, pastries, candy, etc I also make homemade wines and liquers. No homemade beer though, I don't like beer! (but it's always available in my house for visitors.)
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving Dinner, CHRISTMAS EVE & CHRISTMAS DAY!!!! Easter Sunday and
Birthdays and Special Occasions I go all out!! Christmas Dinner is my favorite. Christmas Eve Dinner is always so much fun in my dining room which is decorated to the max. CHristmas Day, we eat around 1:00 in the afternoon and are usually just finishing by 4:30 or 5:00 just in time to clear the table and get ready for Supper! LOL!
My cooking triumphs
I have had many triumphs! People are always hinting around for dinner invitations. I have had numerous requests to market my Cheesecake. People can't seem to get enough of it. Unfortunately, I have a full time job so I can't cook as often as I would like to for other people. I usually spend THanksgiving morning, packing up food to take to people I know in the Daytona Area who don't have anything for Thanksgiving. I normally cook 6 to 8 turkeys. The day after, I usually cannot even get a turkey sandwich. But it makes me happy!
My cooking tragedies
I've have very few "cooking" tragedies although there have been many other of life's tragedies. Two years ago I ended up in the hospital and was unable to cook anythng for Thanksgiving. (and the food went bad) that was a true tragedy.
