I am a mother of 7 children, grandmother of 7 too. I enjoy collecting recipes and like to make things that is inexpensive, keeping the budget low. I also do all kinds of needlecrafts, read, write, love to travel and much more.
My favorite things to cook
Love Mexican foot, Middle Eastern, Asian, Native American, Southern, Pakinstan foods. Very few American foods do i enjoy. The German cakes i love too.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving and Christmas we cook the things my mother cooked for us. We add new dishes too, as we gain new in-laws. We are a multi-cultural family and we bring that to the table as well at the holiday time. For Christmas, my mother in law always made a birthday cake for Jesus. We bake german cookies because of great grandmother Ida. We keep traditions alive
My cooking triumphs
Finally learning how to make pie crust. Took years and then one day after kids went to school, i made 14 pies just so i could finally get the crust right. Now no problem.
My cooking tragedies
FUDGE AND DIVINITY!!! I cannot make these two candies for whatever reason. I have tried all the recipes from the no cook, to all different kinds. I cannot make them!!!
