Some people have a natural flare in the kitchen, I do not. Nor do I enjoy cooking, but since it is much more economical (and often healthier) I figure I must make an attempt. I am married to my high school sweet heart (who thankfully is a wonderful cook) and I think that he deserves to take a break from the kitchen every now and then :)
My favorite things to cook
I don't think I have any favorites yet, but I do feel more comfortable with casseroles (or really any thing that does not involve a lot of multi-tasking or time management... I am great with those skills on the job, but not in the kitchen). I don't like recipes that ask for me to add seasoning 'to taste'. What if I put too much in right away? How do I fix it?!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Maybe this isn't much of a tradition, but my mom makes sugar cookies that us kids get to decorate for every holiday (We are all grown, but still kids in my mom's eyes). It is so much fun to joke around and get everything covered in sprinkles!
My cooking triumphs
Sadly, none. I can make pretty good cookies from scratch, but that isn't much.
My cooking tragedies
Way too many to mention! There isn't much that I haven't burned, under-cooked, over-cooked, added too much or too little of, spilled, dropped, or cried about in the kitchen :O)
