Cake Mixes from Scratch and Variations
I added 1/2 C sour cream and blended with oil separately 1/2 C half n half took advice from reviewer and used oil instead of shortening really sifted the flour w/baking soda well and separated the egg whites from the yolks (put the yolks in with the oil) and folded the fluffed egg whites in last After greasing a 9 x 13 pan with butter I dusted it with cinnamon and brown sugar. My kids, my husband were in a very happy place. Making it again today!

Bourbon Cream Cheese Frosting
For this much bourbon you should double the butter and cream cheese. Also without the bourbon it's great with just 1 C confectioner's sugar, 8 oz cream cheese and 1/4 c butter. Add 1 tbsp vanilla.Yum!
