About this Cook
I'm Brooke! I'm 20 and not in college... yet. Soon I'll will be and I'll be studying Meteorology ;-)... And until then, I'll be cooking and baking like nuts. My complete cooking experience really started in 6th grade when I began putting some of my own meals together. Those included mac and cheese, frozen pizzas, rice and beans, etc etc comfort food. Just recently, like within the past year or two, I've really begun to aquire a taste for making "the good stuff" kinda comfort food... homemade cakes, pasta dinners, breads, cookies with the whole she-bang (heart shaped with cute little faces iced on them). Oh and also, I'm kinda crafty. Look at my photos to see a few of the spiffy things I've made :).
My favorite things to cook
Pasta pasta pasta!!! And all things baked...
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners (and can't forget the left overs!)... Turkeys, hams, homemade mac and cheese, deviled eggs, cherry pies, pumpkin pies, apple pies, chocolate pies!, stuffing (mmmm!!!), sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, all the veggies!
My cooking triumphs
Making homemade cinnamon rolls :). It was my first time using yeast and kneeding dough... it was awesome! And the end result was perfect and sooooo good.
My cooking tragedies
Eeewwwww... parsley pop overs. Looked good on tv, but tasted like puke out of the oven.

Easy Key Lime Pie I
This pie was sooo good, very rich! I kept mine covered in the freezer the whole time and just took it out when I wanted a slice... the texture stayed perfect that way. And I don't know, are key lime pies supposed to stay in the freezer?... (This was my first key lime pie ;-)) I did put whipped cream on the entire thing which was a mistake b/c, of course, it stayed frozen also. I would rather have had fresh whipped cream on each slice, or no whipped cream at all ;-).

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies
I always get rave reviews when I make these... they're absolutely DELISH!! I half the recipe and use 1 cup semi-sweet chips and 1 cup milk chocolate chips and they turn out totally mouth watering!

Toasted Garlic Bread
This was great! The flavors blended nicely together to create a very delicious taste. The left over bread was still delicious the next day! The only thing I will change next time is the thickness of the bread slices. I feel that 1 inch or 3/4 of an inch slices would allow for more taste.
