About this Cook
I'm married with two kids. I'm the only cook in the house and cook daily for the family.
My favorite things to cook
Like fixing a traditional big breakfast on Saturday morning. Also like grilling outdoors and fixing Mexican dishes. Love to try new recipes at least once a week and find those that the family likes that I can add to our menus.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My dad taught me how to slow smoke pork ribs and put together some very tasty baked beans to go with the ribs. This is usually part of our traditional Christmas dinner.
My cooking triumphs
I've created some very basic recipes using different pastas that are hits with family and friends and are no-fail for get togethers.
My cooking tragedies
I cannot bake any desserts as I don't have the taste for sweet things or the knack. I leave that to my wife and mother-in-law.

Easy Pizza Sauce III
This sauce was amazing as a base to cook meatballs. I made the sauce exactly to specifications and added 2 cups of chicken broth and let simmer for 30 minutes. While it was simmering, I made meatballs and dropped them in the sauce, turned up the heat, and cooked them right in it. After all that, I served it over pasta with some parmesan and it was devoured. Great recipe and really, really simple yet diverse.

Shrimp and Mushroom Linguini with Creamy Cheese Herb Sauce
This was awesome. I am not a big cream based sauce fan, but this was fantastic. I cooked it a little different after reading some other reviews to include adding a few dashes of black pepper, evaporated milk and chicken broth in lieu of the water, and added more shrimp than called for. This will become a regular dish at our meal table.

Cherry Chocolate Cake
YUMMY. I am not a big cake eater, but I definitley liked this one. I don't think the cake was too moist as other's have commented. I think it was near perfect with the added pie filling. I topped it with the cream cheese/brown sugar icing found from the Chocolate Torte recipe elsewhere on this site and then topped that with maraschino cherries. Very good.
