I come from a Czechoslovakian background and so perfecting the kolache has been what I've been working on since the time I started cooking. It should only take another twenty years or so. The one that comes to mind is the party potatoes I made for a graduation party in a large 18 quart roaster. I pulled a recipe off the internet--not this site--and found that the potatoes weren't even close to being done. Fortunately I had enough other food that no one noticed,when I pulled them off the menu except for a friend who was helping me set up and she WON'T EVER forget.
