About this Cook
Being from the deep south, I was always around southern cooks, and my grandmother always let me try to cook the "sunday" dinner. Cooking has always been a favorite hobby of mine, i actually relax when im cooking, and i love to see the look on my boyfriends face when he takes that first bite! He loves to eat, and always is thrilled when I come out with a new dish that he has never had.
My favorite things to cook
Recipes that involve fresh ingredents, that are healthy, and that are well rounded. New recipes that ive never tried, or ones that come from a different culture.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Chocolate pie! The secret only passes to one female member of the family! Thus saying only one female gets the recipe out of sisters!
My cooking triumphs
Pie crust! It was really hard to get at first, but after about 20 failed attempts, Im a pro!!
My cooking tragedies
I marinated some pork chops in a mixture of Tonys spice and i totally drenched them, (when i first started cooking) and had to end up throwing away the anticpated meal because we couldnt even eat it! Of course, pie crusts!

Garlic Potato Wedges
i only followed the basic recipe for the wedges, thus saying i added my own spices and only followed the cooking and oil measurements. i seasoned with garlic powder, season all, ground pepper and popped the wedges in according to the temp and baking suggestions. they were really good, but be sure to always stir them every 10 mins or they will stick. i also cooked them a little longer, as we like them to be browned. thanks for the recipe

Stuffed Guinea Squash (Eggplant)
My family LOVED this recipe. Its really fast and easy. But do follow the advice to bake the eggplant hulls for about 10 mins before stuffing them and baking it again. I added garlic powder, diced fresh mushrooms, diced green bell peppers and diced onions. It was amazing!!! Thanks so much for this awesome new way to cook eggplant!

Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker
This recipe is ok, but not my favorite for cooking pork tenderloin. After eating, my boyfriend said he prefers when I cook the tenderloin in a roasting bag in the oven. I had to add alot of spices and flavors to get it just right. (and ALOT of garlic!)Also, dont try to make a gravy out of the jucies. I tried to add some cornstarch to the liquid, bring to a boil, and make a gravy. Didnt work! Ended up with a great tasting, but otherwise lumpy and corn-startchy gravy. Overall, im not making a pork loin in the slow-cooker, the oven variation works better for us because its more tender, and has more flavor! Thanks though for bringing a new idea into the kitchen.
