Rhubarb Cake I

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2004
This cake was soooooooo good. I used four cups of rhubarb and made a batch and a half of the topping for extra gooeyness. My husband loved it but said it needed nuts, so I'll be sure to do that next time. And believe me, there WILL a next time, and soon!

Steak Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2004
I don't think anyone can make a stir fry at home where it tastes as good as at the restaurant, but this was really good. I had left over pot roast and lots of veggies to use up and this recipe was perfect, but I added LOTS more garlic. My husband and kids loved it, too. Thanks.

Fresh Tomato Salsa

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2003
This was the best salse EVER! I used fresh everything out of my greenhouse, including the cilantro. I can't wait until next summer to make some more, only this time I'll grow enough to can some to have it in the winter, too!

Best Hot Crab Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2003
HOLY COW! This dip is fantastic. It's kind of time consuming and spendy to make, but sooooo worth it. I've tasted a lot of different dips, but none compare to this one. I made it for a Home Interiors party and everyone wanted the recipe, and nobody could stop eating it. Makes a lot, too!

Taco Lasagna

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2003
This was really good! I didn't use all that cheese...only 6 cups which was still a lot, but good just the same. It was especially good over the next few days. My picky kids even liked it. I also used more chips in the layers. Thanks for the recipe!

Magic Peanut Butter Middles

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2003
These were too much work and I can't say they are all that great. They taste like regular peanut butter cookies, so why not just make THEM? My kids loved them, but I'm not a fan.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2003
I can't see how these got so many 5-star reviews. They were ok, but nothing to write home about. I still like the original Toll House recipe the best. Just be sure to use half butter and half Crisco shortening, and plenty of pecans. They turn out great every time!

Cocktail Meatballs I

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2003
These were pretty good. I've made a recipe like this before but lost it several years ago. I thought this one would be the same but it wasn't. The sauce is good, but the meatballs were missing something - kind of bland. I'll make them again, but I'll jazz them up a bit.

Hot Crab Dip I

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2003
This dip is absolutely incredible!!! Everyone at my party was asking for the recipe and just couldn't stop eating it. It makes a TON, too! The prep time is rather long, but well worth it. I added some minced onion because it seemed as though it had to have them. I highly recommend this for any occasion. It's good cold, too. Thanks for sharing this!!!

Easy Rum Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2003
This is the same recipe my aunt gave me, but the cooking directions are different. Try boiling all glaze ingredients for a minute...then pour the hot glaze over the cake when it comes out of the oven (go slowly). Allow to cool for 30 minutes, and then turn onto serving plate. Every time I make this cake, it's gone in no time! YUM!!!

Chicken or Turkey Tetrazzini Deluxe

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2003
This was really good, and I could have made it better. I didn't have Cheddar cheese so I used Mozzarella instead. Also, next time I will use speghetti noodles. The linguini noodles were too thick. I didn't add water like most reviewers recommended, but next time I will add about 1/2 a cup. Overall, very tasty and my kids liked it a lot!. Makes a huge batch!

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2003
This recipe me reminds me of my 8th grade Home-Ec. cookbook. It's down-home good stuff. I made this for a Cub Scout potluck and the boys' gobbled it up. However, I had to double the recipe but didn't have enough ground beef, so I substituted ground sausage. I was also in a crunch for time so I made it about noon, and simmered it in the crock pot until serving time. This one's a keeper!!!

OOOOOOOOOHHH this was a rich one, but really delicious. My kids thought they died and went to heaven. I will definitely make this again, but next time I think I'll try white chocolate chips and Macadamia nuts. Thanks for the recipe!

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2003
These were VERY good. I don't usually like peanuat butter cookies (and that's why I make them -- so I don't eat them) but these were light on the "peanutty" flavor. I also added a few drops of vanilla (what's a cookie without vanilla in the mix?) and chocolate chips. My kids and hubby gobbled them up quick. Definitely a keeper! Thanx!!!

Firecracker Grilled Alaska Salmon

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2003
This recipe was just okay. My husband and kids thought it was great, but I think it really needs to marinate at LEAST 8 hours -- I only had time for 3 hours. I will proabably make it again but will allow to set overnight, or longer.

Grilled Onions

These are fantastic, but I always use beef boullion for more flavor. I put them on the grill for about 45 minutes or until they caramelize on the outside. Tastes just like French Onion soup!

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

OMG this was sooooooooo gooooooood. I didn't think I would like it with the cranberries, but I did, and so did everyone else. I had 3 people at my table that said they weren't "stuffing eaters" but gobbled this one up. Will definitely make this one every year. Thanks!

This was excellent. I really loved the gingersnap crust! I added a little more spice and was glad I did...would have been too bland otherwise. A definite keeper. Thanks!

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2002
These were as good as the recipe I've always used, and that's because it's the same one as is printed on the Quaker Oatmeal box. The only difference is the cloves and butter-flavored shortening (which I don't use anyway). Excellent cookie, and will be adding cloves now everytime!
