Kabob Marinade

This was excellent! I had some chicken breasts to use up so this was the ticket. I let them soak about 3 1/2 to 4 hours and then grilled them. I served them on Kaiser rolls and they were loved by all. A definite keeper!

Barbeque Beef Casserole

Can't say I like this one. I thought it was too dry. I won't make it again unless I use a bisquit-type topping instead of corn bread.

Rhubarb Stir Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2005
Excellent cake and very easy. However, I only used 2 1/2 cups of rhubarb and it was more than enough. For the topping, I melted a half a stick of butter to add to the sugar/cinnamon mixture with enough sugar to make it pasty and then spread on the top of the cake. Delish!

Grandma's Gingersnap Cookies

Excellent flavor and texture. I like it when cookies are chrispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, and these are. However, the recipe didn't make 5 dozen. You must have to make them REALLY small. A definite keeper!

Autumn Cheesecake

This was absolutely FANTASTIC!!! I made it for the teacher appreciation luncheon today at my kids' school and it was gone almost instantly. I can't wait to make another one. I also drizzled caramel sauce over the top and had extra in a nice dish for anyone who wanted more. A definite keeper...thanks!

Fourth of July Potato Salad

This is almost like my mom's potato salad and hers can't be beat! Just forget the real mayo, cream, and sour cream and use Miracle Whip in place of them. Add some thinly sliced radishes for color and crunch and you'll love this salad!

Three Cheese Garlic Scalloped Potatoes

What a wonderful comfort food. These were really good, but they needed salt once they hit the plate. Other than that, I had rave reviews and it went great with my Easter ham.

I made this for Easter and it was fantastic. I put it in the oven as we sat down to have our salads and it was done just at the right time for the main course. A definite keeper.

It doesn't get much better than these! They are absolutely fantastic, fast, and easy to make. I use 1/4 cup of flaked coconut in the crust like another reviewer suggested and nummy! A definite keeper.

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2005
VERY good. I made it into dinner rolls instead of loaves because we had a huge ham for dinner and we all love leftover ham sandwiches on fresh rolls. I had to hide some of them because our guests were gobbling them up so quickly that I didn't think there would be any left. Very moist bread with a great homemade freshness to it. A definite keeper!

Blueberry Cheesecake Pie

Excellent! I took the advice of others and double the cheesecake layer and I'm glad I did. This was super easy and was gobbled up very quickly. I'll definitly be making this again, and will experiment with other fruit. I think cherries, rhubarb, or strawberries would work great.

Cheesy Macaroni and Cheese

This was REALLY good. I've been looking for a scratch mac & cheese recipe for a long time and my search is over. This one is it. I added some finely chopped onion and some extra salt for flavor, but other than that, it was perfect. Thanks!!!

Golden Rum Cake

This recipe is almost exactly like the one my aunt is famous for. However, I use pecans for a sweeter flavor. Also, pour the hot glaze over the hot cake while it's still in the pan. Allow it to sit in the pan for 30 minutes and then invert to a serving plate. Sooooooooooooo good.

Crock pot recipes that taste good are hard to find but this roast was excellent. Very quick and easy to prepare in the morning. I made it yesterday for my hubby and kids and they liked it, too. A definite keeper!

Red Currant Pie

The jury is still out on this one for me. However, my husband and company just loved it. I really liked the crust but it seemed too dry until I added some lemon juice to moisten it. If I make it again, I'll be sure to double the merengue part for a "higher" filling.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2004
Not many brownies I like but these were really good. I added about a cup of chopped pecans, but otherwise followed the recipe exactly. I didn't think I'd like the frosting either, but that was really good, too. I'll keep this recipe close cuz I'll definitely be making these a LOT (tasted even better with mint choc. chip ice cream).
