We love this chili! It really does taste like Skyline! I add in a little cayenne.

Easy Vodka Sauce

Great! We use Pinot Grigio and let the whole pot simmer and extra 20-30 mins while the pasta water boils and the pasta cooks.

Garlic Cheddar Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
This is a big hit in our household. It does tend to get a bit oily if you use bagged cheese, so try to get a big block of extra sharp cheddar and grate it, it's worth the effort!

Melt - In - Your - Mouth Shortbread

This truly is melt-in-your-mouth ... but only if you beat the butter for a FULL 20 minutes!! That is what makes the big difference in this recipe!

Cajun Chicken Pasta

This is pretty good. We liked this a lot the first couple times we made it, but it seems hit or miss.... sometimes it just doesn't come out right.

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
This is an absolute staple in our household. We use it for everything from dinner to pot lucks to party entree. I season my sauce with rosemary and whatever else strikes my fancy that day. I bake 30 mins covered with foil, then 10-15 mins uncovered to brown the top a bit.

Apple Dumplings I

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
These are great! I only use about 2 apples. I bake 10 mins on the first side, then flip and bake another 10 mins, then flip back to original side and THEN pour sauce over dumplings. That way they bake up crispy!

Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
Soooo good! This stuff always is the first to go at pot lucks and dinner parties. I put some of the MSG-free bullion powder directly into the potatoes, as well as some fresh garlic -- putting it into the cooking water just doesn't add any flavor for me.

Monkey Bread I

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
Oh wow this is so good! I used only one package of Grands biscuits and kept the measurements the same. Put everything into a bundt pan, and with the single package of Grands, nothing overflowed at all, and the butter/sugar sauce was just the right amount. I will be making this as often as my sweet tooth requires!

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2008
As written, this would be three stars. I will make some changes next time. First, I will omit the crackers/butter all together. I will replace with French fried onions. I will cut the sugar down (too sweet!). Also, I will mix in the cheese instead of layering on top - the cheese layer was too thick! We used fresh green beans and they were great, though... I would not use canned! This was such a nice change from the MSG-laden condensed soup recipe!

Old Time Chicken Divan

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2008
Without garlic, this recipe is quite bland. However, with garlic added, this is most certainly a five star recipe. The sauce is so smooth and wonderful! I add two or three cloves of garlic into my sauce. I saute my chicken in olive oil first, then add it to the mix. Also, I layer a box-worth of linguini on top of the broccoli, so you end up with an entire meal in one pot!

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2008
I didn't have vanilla extract, so I subbed Almond Extract (half of the amount called for) and it gave it almost a cherry taste. These were a big hit! I used semi-sweet chunks instead of chips and it gave it more of a gooey consistency. Next time, though, I will try milk chocolate instead. Using semisweet gives it a *very* rich chocolate flavor and I prefer a "lighter" chocolate taste. Overall, great recipe!
