Easy Cheap and Yummy Casserole

Totally pointless recipe. Might as well just make beanie weenie and cornbread, save yourself some time and oven energy. By the way, it does NOT taste like corndogs and baked beans; the cornbread does not have a strong enough flavor to create that effect. It tastes like beanie weenie. With cornbread. Tastes like a big pile of salt.

The Sarge's Goetta - German Breakfast Treat

Tasted okay, but I could not get it to hold together for slicing. What I ended up with was sort of "goetta hash." It was okay, but it reminded me quite a bit of holiday stuffing.

Curried Coconut Chicken

Yummy! Very mild and delicious sauce. Simmered uncovered 45 minutes, added 3 tbs heavy cream right at the end. So mild, though, felt like something was missing, but I don't know what...

Slow Cooker Lentil and Ham Soup

11 hours is TOO LONG for this recipe! When I came back to it, there was a scrim of dried food on top, and it had that harsh, bitter tang that slow-cooker food gets when it's cooked TOO LONG. I have no idea how good this would be if cooked correctly, but I'm not curious enough to find out. p.s. - I think tomato sauce also made this unpleasant.

Easy Chicken Alfredo II

Okay flavor, a nice tang, but i had texture issues (I don't have a food processor, so I used my immersion blender), and not "alfredo-y" enough. I tossed in a jar of store-bought alfredo sauce (Bertolli's), and it was great. A less-guilty but not guilt-free sauce. P.S. - I cooked three cubed chicken breasts in two tbs butter and two cloves chopped garlic (plus salt and pepper), then stirred into the sauce w/ some steamed brocolli. Result was YUM!

Southwestern Lentil Salad

Yummo! Love this; it's going into our recipe book. Used 1/4 cup olive oil instead of the 1 cup veggie oil. Very tart, but all the flavors really come through without overwhelming each other. Refreshing!

Baked Creamed Corn II

Only 3 stars b/c I changed it a LOT. Cut butter, cream cheese, and cream amounts in half, corn upped to 1 pound. Kept seasonings the same, and this came out GREAT. Even with the liquids halved, this was still very rich and totally delicious, for me and my sister both. The only way I'll ever have creamed corn again; thanks!

Cheesy Potato Salad

Loved this! Added more cheese, and put the bacon on top, because I was afraid it would get soggy if I stirred it in. As per other reviews, I eliminated the sugar. I forgot to add salt, but I don't like salty foods, so it worked out. Great way to have a "baked potato" taste in the summer time.

Baked Buffalo Wings

Sorry, but these came out a soggy MESS for me. They weren't even close to crispy. I prepared and cooked them as directed, but when I pulled them out, they were swimming in chicken juice and sauce, and they were soggy. The flavor of the sauce was great, though, maybe I'll try again with just baking the wings in the flour coating, and dipping in the sauce after, right before serving. I don't know.

Peanut Butter Stuffed Jalapenos

Really great if you like peanut butter, which I do! My sister's face was priceless when I served them, but she ended up enjoying them as much as I did. I roasted them in the foil, then threw them under the broiler for a couple of minutes. A keeper!
