I was lucky to have a mom that made homemade dinners for us pretty frequently, so I learned to bake early on. I started with my favorite desserts from her recipe box, and I still go back frequently! It took until I was on my own though to love cooking meals, too and now I have an appreciative husband to experiment on! As a poor college student I thought I'd be fancy and make some zucchini bread from a neighbor's recipe. The recipe was missing the flour, but I baked it anyway despite misgivings. To my horror I found that not only was it in need of flour but an extra loaf pan too! I ended up with three quarters of the dough on the bottom of a just-cleaned oven and blackened crust left inside.
