Using what ever ingrediants are at hand and coming up with a meal to feed whomever may be present. Finding the best way to use leftovers they are the best meals and are rarely duplicated
My cooking triumphs
Triumphs are all those meals that were pulled out of the hat and seeing happy contented smiles on the faces around the table. You do with what you have -- you try new recipes and experiment -- food is wonderful place to explore your own talents -- don't be afraid to adjust recipes!!!
My cooking tragedies
Oven dying with the Thanksgiving dinner half way through prep. We picked up the whole shebang and headed to my mothers a few miles away -- she was not home. Another Turkey story we were using a friends house for our family Xmas dinner and one of the kids pushed the ovencleaner button locking the turkey in the oven -- my husband actually removed the oven door to get the locking device to unlock.
