Hi! On the profile I had to put professional cook. I am a professional cake decorator and I am a Pantry Chef but not a cook per se. For those who do not know, Pantry Chef is salads, appetizers and desserts. I'm 53 and a grandmother of TEN! Nine of them are boys!
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook enchilladas and Lasagne. Also southern quisine such as chicken & dumplings and Gumbo. I make wedding cakes and birthday cakes. My latest is a baby shower cake, 3 tiers and jungle theme. And cookie bouquets.
My favorite family cooking traditions
For Thanksgiving and Christmas I have to fix my bacon salad. My boys would never forgive me if I didn't. Along with traditional dishes I fix finger foods too. Lots of appetizers.
My cooking triumphs
My latest is Mustard geens! Fry up bacon with garlic then add a little evoo. Then start adding geens to skillet and cook down until bright green color. Season to taste add a can of new potatos Voilla! I was shocked at how delicious they were. I don't like greens. I do now!
My cooking tragedies
When I was sixteen I made cookies and got confused. I put in corn starch for baking powder. They were hard as a rock and tasted horrible.
