Laurie's Shepherd's Pie

Everyone loved this! It was my first time making shepards pie, so I did take the advice of some of the other reviewers and used a third each of a red and orange bell pepper. Also finely minced a few mushrooms and added a beef bullion cube with a half cup of water, a splash of worcestershire, a tbsp of tomato paste, and a little garlic powder. Also put a half cup of colby jack under the potatoes, and cheated on the potatoes by using a box of a roasted garlic. I didn't have a pie crust so I skipped it, but would try it that way too.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

This was good. Was a little bland so added some seasonings (poultry seasoning, bay leaves, pepper, garlic powder, and thyme)when I added the shredded chicken back. Also used chicken broth and one can of biscuits. This was super easy and the kids said it was almost as good as homemade.

Cabbage Fat-Burning Soup

Made this tonight for the first time. Dont know about the weight loss aspect but it was really tasty! Halved the recipe but used zucchini in place of the beans, added a little garlic, tobasco, and dried minced onion. So good and easy. No guilt when eating and you know you are eating something your body wants. Thanks for the awesome recipe!

Beef Tenderloin With Roasted Shallots

We loved this recipe! It took longer than I expected, but that always seems to be the case when I try a new recipe. Plus the shallots I bought were huge-my fault. Didn't have any port so subbed with some sherry and red. I couldn't find a tenderloin roast, so I used a london broil and did it on the stove in the pan I used for the bacon. Served with my roasted potatos and veggies. Husband LOVED it, as did I. Can't wait to do it again!!!!

Mexican Fiesta Pasta Salad

Made this for the annual 4th of July cookout/potluck and it was a hit! People were going back for seconds and even thirds. I meant to make recipe exactly as is, but I forgot the cilantro and it wasnt missed, and the can of olives I bought was smaller than the recipe called for. I think it would have been too many olives if I had bought what was called for. The only other change I would make would to be to add more of the red bell pepper. I will be making this again soon-it was so easy and yummy! Thanks for the recipe Joslyn!

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

The combo of the lemon juice and vinegar was too strong for our family. We will try again with less or just omit one. Did toss some of the mixture with some potatoes as others have suggested with less than stellar results-I ended up throwing the potatoes in a pan to fry and they were much better.

This was very good! It was a little bland for us at first though so I added some cumin, mexican oregano, and garlic powder. My hubby loved it, but I thought a pinch if chili powder would have really taken it to another level. Thanks for the great recipe!

Pleasant Pork Chops

Years ago I had a friend who made a dish very similar to this one and she refused to give me the recipe. I have been looking for this ever since. I only made one change because when I started making this I realized I was out of bay leaves. So I added a little savory and thyme to replace the bay leaves. Everyone loved the dish and this will be made often at our house. Thanks for the recipe!

Non-Balaya

We had this last night and it was really good! I didn't have green onions or fresh parsley, so I used a large onion and used some dried parsley. Also I threw in a red bell pepper because I had to use it up. Very good! At the end of the hour cooking time the bottom was a little brown, but the brown part was really tasty too. I did cheat a little and put in some creole seasoning with the chicken. Everyone loved it. I will definitely be making this one again!

Chicken with Mushrooms, Prosciutto, and Cream Sauce

I had been wanting to make this recipe for a couple weeks and I finally got a chance to last night. The presentation was nice and the chicken was good but I was really disappointed by the sauce. It was like a stroganoff sauce. Not really what I was expecting, but my fault for not realizing that with the ingredients listed that it was going to turn out that way. Will try again with a different/lighter sauce. Thanks for the recipe.

Mouse's Macaroni and Cheese

The kids really enjoyed this recipe. I did use 2 cups of macaroni, and I uncovered it for the last 10 minutes to let the bread crumbs get crunchy. Worked out perfectly!

Old Time Chicken Divan

We had this last night and it was pretty good. The sauce seemed a little thick and it was a little bland, but for the most part we really liked it, especially the fact that the sauce wasn't from a can. Every other recipe on this site for chicken divan uses cream-of-something. We will be making this one again with a few minor adjustments (maybe another 1/3 c. broth and some garlic).

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Oh my goodness this was sooo good! Everyone raved about it and wanted the recipe. Of course I had to make a few changes-used half sour cream and half mayo, as I am not a huge mayo fan and other reviewers had success that way. Also I used 5 fresh jalapenos finely diced, used panko crumbs with the parmesan, and baked it in the oven. This is going in the family recipe book!
