Perfect Cheesecake Everytime

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2009
Very good recipe! Nice, light cheesecake that goes great with fresh fruit. In order to make sure that it didn't crack in the oven I put a pie plate full of water on the rack underneath it. Came out perfect for father's day!

Roasted Cajun Potatoes

this is a great recipe but is really almost too spicy. I will be making it again but I'm going to cut back on the Cayenne pepper

Flavorful Flounder

very good, even my 2 year old ate it up. next time I might cut the topping in half though or add some more fish, it seemed to be slightly overwhelming. Still VERY yummy!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2009
ok, my hubby (who hates mushrooms) totally LOVES this recipe. I normally can't stand pot roast in the crock pot but this was fantastic. I did season mine with a touch of salt and pepper and then brown it in a little butter before I put it in the pot. My hubby is already clamoring for this again!

Chewy Granola Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2009
My daughter LOVES these as does my hubby. It is a great basic recipe where you can mix and match the "flavor" combinations and totally make it your own. I've already made this a few times and since I'm not a big fan of chocolate chips in my granola bars I substituted raisens, cranberries, chopped walnuts, slivered almonds, diced dried apple and cinnimon (not all at the same time mind you). I also opted to use a sheet pan instead of a 9x13 and pressed the mixture down into it with my rolling pin. My bars don't fall apart but aren't hard either. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful, user friendly recipe. Bye, bye quaker granola bars, I've got something better in the house :)

Sweet Potato Bisque

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2008
I was very disappointed by this soup. It smelled SO good when I was making it but there seems to be far too much water. It turned out very bland and in order to save my efforts I threw in a package of dry veggie soup mix.

T's Sweet Potato Fries

I followed this recipe to the absolute "t" and they turned out a mushy mess. I wound up putting them under the broiler to crisp them up a bit and it still didn't work out all that great. I'll keep looking for a better recipe.

Potato Salad III

pretty good, better after it sits for a day. My husband likes mustard potato salad so I added just a little bit of yellow mustard and he went bonkers over it. Thanks for the recipe.

MMMM VERY good! My hubby prefers this over my homemade canned salsa. Really easy to put together and after it sits for a day it's even better!

Restaurant-Style Coleslaw I

This is pretty good although I really thought it could use some more zip. Next time I think I'll decrease the sugar a bit and add a little more vinegar...maybe some horseradish too.

Plum Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2008
This is definately a keeper!!! I made this for a Labor Day get together and all of it went. I didn't have baby food in the house so I just threw 2 plums into my blender and used those instead. Cake is VERY moist, has great flavor and the icing is the perfect touch of tang. I've got 2 more plums sitting on my counter and I'm making this cake again tomorrow!

Banana Muffins II

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2008
I loved the basics of this recipe but I just couldn't help but mess with it. I was out of eggs in the house but substituted 2 tbsp cornstarch instead...seems to have worked just fine. I also did half white flour and half wheat flour as well as half/half white and brown sugar. I threw in about 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, a dash of cinnamon and a splash of vanilla YUM YUM!! Will definitly make again!

Taco Quiche

This was SO easy to make and it turned out great! I decided to use 1/2 a lb of hamburger and doubled the onions but you would never have known I skimped on the meat. I will be making this one again.

Slow-Cooked Tamale Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2008
We love tamales and this recipe tastes just like them. I added an onion and 2 cloves of garlic and I also used taco seasoning instead. It is also very good with a little enchillada sauce spooned over the top. I made this tonight and my hubby is already requesting that we have it again.

Slow Cooker Homemade Beans

yum! These taste a lot like the one's my mom used to make. I made one change (because my hubby is a carnivore) and browned a half pound of ground beef before hand and threw that into the mix as well. Even my 2 year old was nutz about this recipe!

Crustless Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2008
mmmmmYUM! I made some changes to the recipe for the ingredients we had in the house. I added 2 cloves of garlic and a yellow bell pepper to the onions. And I used 2 bunches of fresh spinach instead of frozen. I also changed the cheese to 1 1/2 cups mozzarella and 1 1/2 cups cheddar....um... I still used the 5 eggs, pepper and salt though lol. Seriously GREAT recipe. I stuck it in the fridge and we had breakfast every morning.

MMMMMM VERY good!! We loved these. The only change I made was that I added more hot sauce...about a tablespoon more to the sauce, but it wasn't tabasco sauce. We LOVE things hot and spicy. The rest of the meal I followed the recipe to the T. Thank you for supplying such a wonderful, yummy recipe!

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

This is one of our new family favorites, even my 2 year old loves it! While I LOVE putting the beer in, sometimes I just don't have it in the house, and I've discovered that throwing in some water only or water with some chicken bullion works great too. Thanx for posting this recipe!

Dill Pickles

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2008
mmmmmm these turned out SO yummy. I had a dickens of a time finding "heads of dill" though so I bought the baby dill and also added 1/4 tsp dried dill seeds to each jar. I also cold canned them and didn't have any that "unsealed". The trick I use is to invert them for an hour or so. That way the rubber seal on the lid gets good and hot and the jars seal better.
