About this Cook
Married mother of one. Currently living in Arizona so if anyone has any great ideas on how to cook without heating up the house (besides grilling and crockpot) I'm all ears.
My favorite things to cook
Dutch food, Mexican food, and Italian...but pretty much anything goes :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
I have always loved to be in the kitchen. Apparently it's genentic or something. My grandmother's family owns a string of bakeries in Holland, and my grandfather was a chef for years. A lot of my recipes have a slightly European flare since thats where they come from, but I am open to all different kinds of recipes from all over the world.
My cooking triumphs
I finally, successfully made Chili Rellenos that weren't greasy and where the chilis weren't in shreds by the time I was done!
My cooking tragedies
Trying to teach my hubby to cook is the great tradgedy of my life...the man cannot read a recipe. Other than that, the most memorable recipe flop was green tomato pie....it was supposed to come out tasting kind of like apple pie...but, um..no, even the dogs wouldn't touch it.

Perfect Cheesecake Everytime
Very good recipe! Nice, light cheesecake that goes great with fresh fruit. In order to make sure that it didn't crack in the oven I put a pie plate full of water on the rack underneath it. Came out perfect for father's day!

Roasted Cajun Potatoes
this is a great recipe but is really almost too spicy. I will be making it again but I'm going to cut back on the Cayenne pepper

Flavorful Flounder
very good, even my 2 year old ate it up. next time I might cut the topping in half though or add some more fish, it seemed to be slightly overwhelming. Still VERY yummy!
