Chicken Chow Mein

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2009
Sorry, but this just was not very flavorful. I expected mild and I love chow mein, but this just didn't do it for me. I followed the recipe exactly, only adding a few more vegies than called for.

Sandy's Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2009
My hubby and I really enjoyed this. I was so hesitant because we don't really like casseroles, but I had stuff that needed to be used so I did it. I did change a few things...I used half cheddar and half parmasan cheese. I added seasoned salt, black pepper, celery seed and worchestershire sauce. I also added frozen vegie mix because I just have to have vegies. I also covered with tin foil and stirred at about 35 mins and left uncovered. Mine actually took close to 1hr and 15 mins before the noodles were done. The last 10 mins, I added crushed ritz crackers with melted butter. It makes a lot and we only made half the recipe. So if you are making this for two people or a family with one child, half the recipe! It was so yummy. I even ate it for lunch today. I thought of a great alternative for an adult crowd or party....add a can of chopped artichoke hearts and some diced up red peppers. Thank you so much for the recipe. It is a keeper!

Spicy Strawberry Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2009
So so so good!! Loved it. I didn't think it was spicy, but I loved it. I had to sub a few things, like I did spinach instead of mixed greens, and used sugared almonds. I also added blue cheese crumbles.....the dressing rocks. I bet this would be good with blueberries or blackberries too. even nectarines.

Blueberry Muffins I

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2009
I thought these were easy muffins and tasted just fine. I added a few more blueberries because I have a million right now and I did sprinkle a tiny amount of brown sugar on top each muffin before baking them just for that touch of sweetness. I'd easily make these again with no changes.

Sassy Steak Marinade and Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2009
Holy smokes - this was yummy. I added a little fresh cracked pepper and some montreal steak seasoning to the marinade. Marinaded it for 24hrs. So good. I was very surprised at how extremely yummy this was. I think it is my new favorite marinade of all time. I didn't make the mushrooms/sauce out of the reserve.

Chocolate Chip Muffins

These are so yummy! I gave it a 4 because I added 2 extra things (sour cream and vanilla as suggested by others.) I love that they are not too sweet and the sugar topping just gives it the exact amount of sweetness. Thanks for such a great recipe. I will definitely be making these again.

Cowboy Casserole

I really wanted to like this recipe. It sounded like a great week night, fix it fast recipe. However, to my family, it just tasted like beefed up baked beans. It was good and I would definitely serve it as a side dish at a picnic or potluck, but didn't hit the spot for us for a dinner item.

Southwestern Chicken and Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2009
Very good. My only issue was the cook time. I had to cook mine an additional 30mins to get the rice to be done. I think next time I will do it uncovered. I added a can of drained black beans and used already cooked chicken diced up because I had that on hand. It was very yummy. Oh, and I used cream of mushroom soup because that is what I had and used chicken broth instead of water.

Almond Chicken Salad

Loved it. I added cabbage and half a package of top raman noodles. I also only used 1/2 of the called from mustard powder and it was still a bit spicy, but it was soooo good. Thanks for such a great recipe.

Valentino's Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2009
Overall, I liked the crust and it was so easy to put together. I ended up using only half the dough because I prefer thin crust. I froze the other half for another time. I need to play with this a little more to figure out what I think was missing from the crust. It turned out crispy on the outside with a little bit of a chew to it, just like I like. I just think the flavor wasn't what I was looking for. I will try again for sure.

Slow Cooker Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2008
excellent recipe. The flavor was spot on and my whole family loved it. The only changes I made were that I substitued 1 12oz can of V8 for one of the cups of water, used only frozen corn and peas because that was what I had and added one can of drained kidney beans. I will definitely make this again. It makes a lot of soups, but I am excited about the leftovers. Thanks for such a comforting recipe.

Easy Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2008
I would have given them 5 stars but my daughter and husband didn't like them. I loved them. I think if I cut down the cloves in the recipe that they would like it more. They both seemed to be adverse to the spice. Otherwise they were perfectly moist and delightful. I loved that you don't have to add eggs or oil. Great way to get rid of a ton of fat!! Lovely!

Christmas Breakfast Sausage Casserole

Loved this recipe. I added mushrooms and green onions (sauteed them in the sausage oil). I increased the eggs to 6, use only a cup of half and half instead of 2 cups of milk. It was sooooo good.

Hot and Sweet Dipping Sauce

Loved this sauce. Made no changes at all. I liked that it wasn't super thick, more of like a nice syrup consistancy. Thanks for posting this.
