About this Cook
I grew up in a large family with many Aunts and my Grandmothers that all have/had a passion for cooking. They passed their recipes and tips down to me which I'll always treasure. I pass everything I have learned down to my children with the hopes the cooking styles and methods will continue in our family for years to come.
My favorite things to cook
I love baking...anything that needs to be baked...I'm on it! I also love BBQ and am always eager to try a new recipe when it involves firing up the grill. I LOVE seafood and love discovering different ways to make it into a great family weekend meal.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorites would have to be the family gatherings during the Holidays which I miss so much. I enjoy making new memories and traditions with my own family. I also love the dishes we make during these times because it gives me and my children something to look forward to each year, and I hope that it will continue for years to come.
My cooking triumphs
I would have to say I've had many. But most of all mastering my baking and grilling techniques.
My cooking tragedies
I think everyone has been here and it probably take up too much room to list all mine...lol. I've never had anything dramatic as torching the Thanksgiving Turkey, but I've had some minor complications throughout my cooking years.

Honey Butter
Sadly I was out of honey, so I used maple pancake syrup instead and it tasted just as great!

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies VI
Great recipe. Only changes I made were I used margarine instead of butter, 2tsp baking powder because I didn't have baking soda, and I was out of regular oats, so I used a box of Apples and Cinnamon instant oatmeal (3 packs=1cup), and it came out delicious!! I will definitely be using the instant oatmeal packs from now on when making these...it just added to the taste!
