KELLOGG'S* RICE KRISPIES* Toffee Squares

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2008
These are GOOD but SWEET! If I make them again, which I probably will, I will use COCOA rice krispies for the top instead of regular mixed with the melted chocolate. Also, it won't look like you have enough crust to spread in the pan, but you will.

Critter Fritter Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2008
The reason I am giving this a 3 is because it had a funny texture. The bottom meat part was crumbly, nothing held it together. You need to add probably 3/4 c. ketchup to the meat, or add cheese. Instead of covering the top of the cornbread part with the shredded cheddar, next time I will probably add the cheese into the meat mixture. We doused ours in ketchup to eat it. I will try again, because the flavor was really good (I doubled the onion and salt).

Black Bottom Cupcakes I

I'm trying to figure out why people like these so much. Mine were ugly and sticky. I would actually have preferred to use a cake mix with these. Will not make again.

WAAAY too much work for what you end up with. Sticky dough. Tasted okay, but will not make again.

Apple Squares

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2008
Flavor-wise, these are probably a 10. The texture, however, was funny to me. It was cakey on bottom, cobbler-like on top, and gooey in the middle. Maybe I didn't bake them long enough? Either way, they didn't last too long at my house. Will absolutely make again.

Slow Cooker Lemon Garlic Chicken II

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2008
This tasted great, but was too dry, and I had it in the crock pot for 4 hours. So next time I'll try 3 hours. I also added a little cornstarch to the liquid to make a sauce for the chicken and served with rice.

I made this for my husband, I don't eat french toast. He gave it a 4 for taste. All I can say was it was easy to make and smelled good!

Greek Orzo Salad

Great combination! I left out the artichoke hearts, so instead of using the juice for the dressing, I made the "Absolutely Fabulous Greek/House Dressing" from this site. It really made the salad!!

Don't be afraid to try this in the microwave. Place both halves in a shallow dish, cover tightly with saran wrap and microwave on high 6-8 minutes. Turns out just fine without heating up the house.

Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2008
I made this to frost sugar cookies, and it frosted over 100, so plan accordingly. Also, it sets up okay, so I was able to stack the cookies after frosting them. The key is cream the butter until you don't think you can cream it anymore!

Look no further-if I could give this a 10, I would! But please do this: double the lemon zest and add 1/4 c. brown sugar. I bake these for a local farm and art market, they go fast! Yum!

Monkey Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2008
I have made this 3 times in the last month, it's delicious! I actually make it and sell it at the local farm and art market. Here's what I have changed: I use 3- 7.5 oz. cans of biscuits, 1 1/4 c. sugar and 1/4 c. brown sugar. If you don't add extra sugar, you will run out of the sugar/pudding mix. I also melt an extra 1/2 stick butter, and then what's leftover, I pour over the bread before baking. If you are not a big fan of butterscotch, don't worry, because it does not come out overwhelming at all!
