About this Cook
My name is Tammy. I have been married for 20 years to a wonderful man. I have 2 boys. All of them love to eat. I love trying new recipes and have gotten my picky husband to try many things he never thought he would and he acually like them. Cooking is my favorite to pass the time.
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking casseroles, stews and soups, desserts. I love grilling. With the weather in Georgia you can grill nearly year round. And with the hot summers here that helps keep from heating up the house.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I was raised having Sunday dinner with the family. We would all load up and go to grandmothers where she would have a wonderful dinner made. I am now doing that with my husbands side of the family. Only now I host.
My cooking triumphs
I love trying new recipes and techniques. I love it when I try something new and everyone loves it. I tried for years to get potato salad to taste like my grandmothers. I tried it several weeks ago again and it was almost identical to hers. My brother-in-law who had never ate my grandmothers potato salad said that was the best potato salad he had ever had.
My cooking tragedies
Had my share of cooking tragedies too. Learning to grill was a task. I have burned many of good steaks. Knowing when the grill is ready is the key. I also was making a Red Velvet Cake for a family Christmas gathering many years ago. Somehow the food coloring lids had been swapped. I used green instead of red. Same great taste just had to rename it.

Parmesan Knots
So easy and yummy. I used Italian Seasoning in place of the oregano and parsley and butter in place of oil. Served them a pizza sauce used for dipping and what a simple finger food for a party. Thank you for the recipe. I will make this again and again. And kids love them too!!

Yakatori
Very good! I made both chicken and steak. I did substiture Red Wine Vinegar for the lemon juice. Turned out wonderful and they disappeared quickly. Will make these often. So easy!

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup
Wonderful flavor! I only made a few minor changes. I used frozen fajita style chicken, changed the tomato sauce to 1 28oz can crushed tomatos, and a 28oz can whole kernel corn not drained. Other than that left recipe as is. I used a bottle of Miller Lite. The beer is a must for flavor. Does not taste like beer at all but everything comes together to make a great tasting soup/chili flavor.Have Texas Pete, cheese and corn chips on hand to serve. Mmmmm Will make again and again. Thanks for the recipe!!
