About this Cook
Cooking is my passion, spending a day in the kitchen preparing a delicious meal for my family is soul satisfying! I have a wonderful collection of recipes that have become family traditions over the years and I love trying new recipes that we can add to our family favorites.
My cooking triumphs
I must say my thanksgiving stuffing is the best! I have created a lot of my own recipes through the years by taste, trial and error, and I've ended up with some delicious unique family favorites. My sons often call me for recipes -Donnie enjoys cooking and Bobby is my biggest fan right now, he enjoys cooking and great food too, he is in college and has already taught me a few things! This year for Christmas I made a cookbook dedicated to my sons and husband with all of our family recipes, it took me 3 months to compile and type my recipes, some were just in my head! - but it was well worth it. The cookbook has already traveled to Florida with my sister and the girls are borrowing it at Penn State! It is important for me to pass on our family recipes to my sons, their families, children and future generations, and it's a wonderful feeling to share the cookbook with other family and friends!

Butterscotch Pecan Dessert
This is a favorite summer dessert - used one butterscotch and one vanilla pudding. Cool, refreshing and not too sweet, pecan crust is excellent texture with creamy layers. Something a little different for my crew...try it

Chicken and Broccoli Braid
I actually made this vegetarian for my son. Steamed 1 1/2 cups fresh broccoli until tender crisp and chopped small. Sauteed red bell pepper, garlic and onion in 1 tsp. butter in small frying pan. Decreased dill weed to 1 tsp. - perfect. Increased almonds to 3 tablespoons. All else according to original recipe. Beautiiful and delicious! Added to my recipe box for future. Goes well with traditional salad and corn on the cob.

Tomato and Mozzarella Bites
I made these for a party and they are a beautiful appetizer - but the mozzarella balls lacked flavor, the mozzarella roll I usually buy has a much better flavor. I will stick with sliced garden tomatoes and sliced mozzarella arranged with fresh basil on a plate, definitely use salt, pepper and a balsamic drizzle.
