About this Cook
i'm 24 years old and i live in israel. i eat only kosher food, so i like looking at recipes from magazines and stuff, and figure out how to make them kosher. it's prety easy usually.
My favorite things to cook
I love making and eating soups. I also have a recipe for Creole sauce, that is absolutely stunning! I want to try some mexican food now, I think it might be tasty.
My favorite family cooking traditions
cutting french fries and baking them instead of frying => healthier that way. and eating it with mayonnaise (i was born in holland).
My cooking triumphs
I once made a dinner party for like 30 ppl. My father helped me a bit with the rice, a thing I'm very bad at. But I made the rest of the food (meatballs, rolls, desert) and it was very succesfull. I also once made eggrolls from scratch! I made the pancakes (whole wheat), the filling and the sweet & sour sauce. It was a ton of work, but very worth it. I don'tknow if I'll do it again, though!
My cooking tragedies
I once managed to make a cake without flour. It had self-rising flour and I asked my mom what to use instead and she said: "1.5 tsp baking powder". So I did. I thought it was a bit weird that it didn't have regular flour, like the other recipes. It came out very weird, of course.

Slow Cooked Apple Peach Sauce
i loved this. i used very little cinnamon because of other reviews. it was very good, also i think this might be ideal baby-food. i was worried at the beginning, because there was no liquid, but after a few hours there was a lot, it came out of the fruit, so i'm happy i didn't add any!

Dutch Potatoes
my father makes "hutspot" - that's really dutch! he cooks the onion together with the potatoes and carrots, and just adds black pepper and salt. we eat it with meatballs or hamburgers, and pour gravy over it. yum! my hubby didn't like it that way, maybe i'll do it your way, although without sourcream and chives...
