Rustic Autumn Fruit Tart
About this Cook
I'm a pastor's wife and mom to four hungry boys.
My favorite things to cook
I really like cooking specialty ethnic foods. I love my meals to have a story to tell. We have lived so many places, that it has been fun to learn the signature dishes of places, and cooking them, and talking about them elsewhere!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I have begun to teach my 12 year old son how to really cook, not just mac and cheese and ramen (though he does those well too!) I look forward to passing on cooking traditions with my other sons.
My cooking triumphs
I made the Soprano's family Cook book Sunday Gravy...and it rocked! I am also a self proclaimed "Soup Nazi". Give me some bones and a few vegetables...I'll turn it into the best pot of soup ever!
My cooking tragedies
When we were first married my husband wanted me to make the Bisquick hamburger pie...it ended up tasting like soap...I'm still not sure what happened!

Rustic Autumn Fruit Tart
This is a fabulous recipe. I made mine free form. I also added a bit of almond to the filling, to give it a little extra punch of flavor. I used one pear, one red delicious apple, and 1 each of a small granny smith and a macintosh apple. Very yummy!

Simple Country Ribs
These turned out very nice. I used boneless ribs, and I suspect they spent a bit too long on the grill as they got a bit dry...but the flavor was fabulous!
