Croutons

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2009
Right now (November) bags of bread bits are sold for less than $2 at your local grocery store. They are sold as stuffing bread but I used one of those bags to make croutons. The bread is already cut up, it's really cheap, and makes a lot of croutons.

World's Best Lasagna

Super yummy. I made the sauce in the crock pot (on high for 3 hrs) and I soaked the noodles instead of boiling them. It was really easy- it just took a while!

Jenn's Out Of This World Spaghetti and Meatballs

Reviewed: May 5, 2009
Horrible sauce due to the sugar. Don't put sugar in! I'm trying to figure out how to redeem the sauce...we'll see if anything works. Meatballs were good but totally overpowered by the sweetness of the sauce.

I added 1/2 cup of oatmeal but it's great just like it is.

Slow Cooker Latin Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2009
This was so yummy! I put everything in the slow cooker at once and cooked on low for 7 hrs. Chicken came out great. I also added some corn. I served over brown rice and next time I'll add a dollop of sour cream.

Spaghetti Carbonara II

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2009
This was amazing! I felt like I was eating at a restaurant. I added some nutmeg and I also mixed the eggs and the cheese together first and then added them to pasta. Also- the biggest change which turned out to be great was that I used Angel Hair pasta. So good!! Thank you for this awesome addition to my favorites.

Grilled Chicken Salad with Seasonal Fruit

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2008
Super easy and quick and makes plenty of dressing. I used black pepper and mustard. I took it to a dinner party and had several people comment on how good it was and they also asked for the recipe. Will make again!

Ziti with Italian Sausage

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2008
The dish is really good but it needs more sauce!!! I put in 28oz of tomatoes and 15oz of tomato sauce and it was still a bit dry. I also added in extra seasonings- just what I had on hand! My husband and I do not like mushrooms so I put yellow corn in instead and we both love it. I will make again!

Beezie's Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2008
This soup is amazing! I just had two bowls and I'm looking forward to making it again. Here are my suggestions: Buy ready to go black beans. Soaking them and then putting them in the crock pot really isn't worth the time and added effort. Instead of lentils I added a can of kidney beans (just had them in the pantry). I didn't add the .28oz of tomatoes because my crockpot is too small. So instead I added a bit of ketchup, mustard and syrup. I also only put 4 cloves of garlic since garlic likes me a little too much! I served with corn bread and a little sour cream on top. Yummy!

Wheat Germ Whole-Wheat Buttermilk Pancakes

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2008
I am very pleased with these pancakes- healthy and yummy. I used vanilla yogurt to replace the buttermilk and it made the batter very thick- but we liked it! I added a little vanilla (1/4 tsp) and that added a nice flavor. I also added some berries into the pancakes right after i put them on the grill. Will make again!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2008
Everything was great! I followed the suggestions to add cinnamon in the batter and to use oil instead of butter. I will make these again- the only thing I will change is making half the amount of sugar coating that goes on top of the muffins. I had a ton left over!
