Originally from Philadelphia, I spent all my highschool years in a Tech. School learning Culinary Arts. I recieved an internship at Trump (yes, donald) Casino and Hotels for my senior year in highschool-where I worked under the head chef. I moved to Yellowknife in August '07, and am getting married to my best friend, whoes an Ice Road Trucker. I've competed in numerous competetions and love competitive cooking.
My favorite things to cook
Mostly Asian and World Cuisines. I love making traditional asian dishes like gimbop and bulgogi and curries.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family is mostly sicilian italian, so we all love to cook and eat. I remember all the women in the kitchen in the holidays laughing. It was then when I learned that when you cook you should always laugh.
My cooking triumphs
My internship has to be my biggest trumph. I was selected out of my whole class of 60. I really learned alot and I was able to expand my culinary knowlege greatly. Of course, nothing better than when I see the faces of people who eat my food light up with joy.
My cooking tragedies
...the first time I made scrambeled eggs when I was 6. SOOO BAD. I also cannot boil eggs properly...
