Brown Sugar Meatloaf

I don't know if I was just in the mood for this or not, but it was just wonderful!! I will totally make this again. It isn't that different than the "wing-it" version, but it is also nice to follow a recipe to make sure it is good. Next time I think I will just put the ketchup/sugar mix on top of it, because I like it a bit browner.

Astoria Crab Pasta

Great recipe, but I had to change a few things. I made it as directed except I didn't have any wine, so I took the suggestion of another reviewer and used lemon juice. This was great! But when it was all finished, I just felt like it was lacking something. So I chopped up half an onion and sliced the corn off a cob and threw that in there as well. Then it was a bit dry and rather than add a bunch of oil, I added the starchy water from the noodles. It was fantastic this way, plus I didn't use a ton of fatty oil. I will be making this again!

Feta Cheese Turkey Burgers

I really liked these. We took them to a bbq and others wanted to try them as well! I especially liked the bites of feta in there. We changed two things: 1) we added an egg for binding and moisture (as others had said they were dry) and 2) we added about 1/2 a large white onion. We ate them just like "regular" burgers with lettuce, tomato (from our garden!), and onion all on a bun.

Blueberry Buckle

This was fantastic! And easy to make too, which is a major bonus. I wish I had read the reviews before making it, I also found that 2 C of flour was too much, but I added a bit more milk to thin it a bit (and that still worked great). The batter is very thick, it is supposed to be. So rather than "pouring" the batter you have to scoop it out and drop it in. We used huckleberries instead of blueberries and it is amazing! But as other recommended, I think it could be complemented with a bit of vanilla or almond extract. I might even throw in some sliced almonds on top next time too! I will definitely be making this again!

Nanny's Spaghetti Sauce

I thought this was a good basic sauce. I followed the instructions except for adding sauteed onion and mushrooms. Definitely better than the jars of sauce, but maybe still missing something for me. I am giving this three stars, because it didn't get any better sitting in the fridge. Sauces usually get a bit better within the next few days and this one just didn't. It separated and just sort of became gross. I ended p throwing it away because I didn't want to eat it. :(

Curried Quinoa Salad with Mango

This was great, but I changed a lot! 1) I used 2 tsp curry powder, 2) I added a stalk of celery, 3) I added a few sliced almonds, 4) I didn't have quite enough mango so I added a few dried blueberries, 5) I used red onion instead of green onion, and 6) I omitted the salt. I thought the flavor was great except it was too much black pepper for my liking. It just didn't seem to flow with the fruit. So I think next time I will just put a dash in or so.

Classic Macaroni Salad

This was great! I made it for a BBQ at our house. I did change a few minor things: 1) like other suggested I cut the sugar in half and it was definitely sweet enough for all of us, 2) I added sliced green olives (delicious!), and 3) I added 3 cut up boiled eggs. I had my doubts about the vinegar, but it really added a nice flavor (plus not having to use as much mayo is a bonus as well).

Edamame-Stuffed Wontons

These were somewhere between a 3 and 4 as the recipe is...I think it could be moved up if they were steamed. They would be delicious steamed and I definitely plan to make again this way. The filling had great flavor, although I did add sesame seeds as someone else suggested.

Easy Pizza Sauce I

The rosemary in this recipe is fantastic. I can't have pizza sauce now without it. I have made this with the tomato paste and water and also wit tomato sauce (no water); either way works great for me.

Cracked Sugar Cookies I

Good basic cookie. I didn't have vanilla extract on hand, so I threw in a bit of clover honey for flavor (now I wish I had added more it was good!). I only used 2 C of flour, because mine would have been dried out with all of it.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

I loved this! SO thought it was a bit too soft and would have enjoyed a firmer fish. I did change a few things, I added breadcrumbs as another suggested and I didn't have any celery salt. Both other than that I followed it pretty closely.

This was awesome, I took it to a potluck and it was a huge hit. Loved the sauce too, but took advice from other reviewers and only put in 1/4 c. brown sugar. It was definitely sweet enough.

Tequila Shrimp

Fantastic! I have made this twice now, the first time I made it over Parmesan couscous, which was delicious! Tonight I just made it again and just ate it alone. Neither time I had fresh cilantro (bummer), I bet it would even be better with it.
