About this Cook
I have been married all my life, or so it seems. I have three grown children, 2 boys and 1 girl and they all now live in different states. I keep busy working so I can afford to see everyone as often as possible. :-) I miss having everyone nearby but they have to live their lives. I have so many recipe books I can't keep up with them. I love to read and re-read them whether I cook from them or not.
My favorite things to cook
Desserts! I love cabbage recipes and make a fabulous Potato Soup! I will try most things, but since I work outside my home, I usually stick to fairly quick and easy meals now. I love to cook for the family when they are here.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love cooking holiday meals. Thanksgiving is the best! Our Superbowl Sunday treat is that we eat in the living room in front of the TV. Otherwise, all meals are at the dining room table, together. We have special meals for each holiday and everyone knows what to expect. Family, food, fun, that's what it is all about.
My cooking triumphs
When I was first married I made a full turkey feast with all the trimmings and invited my family over, not knowing if anything would turn out worth eating. It was a complete success and I was so proud!
My cooking tragedies
Me? Tragedies? There are a few, how else can we learn?

Unstuffed Cabbage Dinner
My husband and I enjoyed this very much. It was very mild so I added just a splash of spaghetti sauce and topped it with Parmesan and Cheddar/Jack Cheese. We will have this again on a regular rotation. Thank you for submitting this recipe.

Chocolate Upside-Down Cake
This cake is delicious. As others, I thought it might have too much water, but no, it was just right. It is so moist and rich. I had to have a bite right out of the oven. I am looking forward to tasting it when it cools.

Peppered Bacon and Tomato Linguine
This was very good. It was a different taste and the more I ate, the more I liked it. I did not find it greasy. I poured off all but a couple of tablespoons of the bacon grease and I don't think anything was missed. I also used fire roasted tomatos. We will have this again.
