Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

I didn't really follow the instructions. I wanted more ham & potatoe in the soup that liquid, so I used about 5 potatoes & 1 bag of diced ham. I didn't have the bouillon the recipe called for, so I used chicken broth like another reviewer did. And I didn't use celery, I used a bit of celery flakes. Next time I make this recipe, I'll reduce the water & use garlic instead of celery.

Rolled Fondant

This didn't work out for me at all when I made it. I had to throw it away, but I think it was because I put too much powdered sugar in the fondant. Next time, I'll try it with less powdered sugar.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

This truly is fantastic! I made this as my first pie, and I was really amazed! I used red apples instead of the green apples because I don't like the tart flavor, and I used some of the suggestions like adding cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla to the filling and pouring the filling in with the apples instead of on top of the pie. DELICIOUS!

Ruth's Grandma's Pie Crust

I made this crust with the "Apple Pie by Grandma Ople" recipe from this website. It turned out really well. I used butter flavored shortening like someone suggested, and it turned out crunchy and flaky. I was really surprised as a first time pie maker!

Satiny Chocolate Glaze

I really enjoyed the texture and flavor of this glaze when it was warm, and I drizzled it on top of the cake; however, after a day or two, it just wasn't as good. I probably won't use it again unless I keep it separate to warm before adding it to the cake.

Marble Swirl Pound Cake

The flavor of this cake was pretty good, but my swirl didn't turn out very pretty ... I think that if I try it again, I won't swirl, I'll just pour the chocolate on top.

This bread had a really good flavor, but I didn't like how dense it was. I agreed with one of the other reviewers that if you're looking for a muffin type bread, this isn't it.

Grandma's Sour Cream Pound Cake

I used lemon zest instead of the mace, and that worked out really well. I think next time I make this cake, I'll also make a lemon glaze for the topping to help moisten the crust.
