I'm a pretty introverted person upon meeting, but once you get to know me I'll likely never shut up. I like to make people laugh and have fun with friends & family. I live in Lincoln, NE with my husband and miniature dachshund Abbey. We just bought a house so I am having fun making it ours.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook asian food, it's fun to try different recipes, and I find it's easier to make than a lot of American cuisine. I also recently found out that I'm not too shabby a baker, so I'm enjoying trying cookies and cakes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family is big into appetizers, dips and jellos! Our Thanksgiving tradition includes a redhot/cream cheese jello salad that has been passed down through many generations. And it's takes many, many tries to get it right. I also married into a family with a wonderful croissant recipe that was passed down to me for a shower gift. I'm working on perfecting that.
My cooking triumphs
I am always praised for my dips and salads. They're easy to make, and easy to change up with different ingredients. I'd say my most recent triumph was mozzerella chicken wings. My husband couldn't stop raving about them!
My cooking tragedies
There have been many. Suffice it to say I no longer use beaters on mashed potatoes, and I have a very good idea of the difference between teaspoon and tablespoon when it comes to salt.
