About this Cook
We're a young couple. One who likes to eat food that he's tried before and knows are good... and one who likes to try new things (even those fairly exotic). We live in Germany, on a limited budget so we have limited access to certain ingredients.
My favorite things to cook
We are trying to 1) learn how to cook the old favorites and 2) learn how to cook new things. We would like to become comforable enough with cooking to be able to host get-togethers without relying completely on cookbooks.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I loved baking with my mother as a child, but didn't end up cooking much with her as we grew older. I hope to cook & bake with my children throughout their years growing up.
My cooking triumphs
Nothing extraordinary yet. Him: chicken stuffed with spinach & blue cheese. Her: herbed beef in salt crust. & found the absolute best choc. chip cookie recipie. She wants to learn which flavors go with which foods. He wants her to learn how to cook without a cookbook.
My cooking tragedies
once, i was making one of those frozen pizzas at a boyfruends house (when we were just starting dating)... when it was done, we had a hard time cutting through the pizza. i forgot to take the cardboard out from under it.

Mondi's Super Simple Chicken
nervous about the 'dry' thing, I attempted to combat this by using a smaller dish to roast in (just barely big enough for the 2 breasts I made), covered with tin foil except for the last 10 minutes and baked on 325 for 20 min, then 350 for 20 min, then uncovered at 400 for 10 min.

Barbeque Sauce III
This is a really good BBQ sauce. I didn't have chili sauce... that was fine. I used korean bulgolgi BBQ sauce... added a bit of chipotle tobasco... overall, you can mix/match/substitute on this recipie & it's still EXCELLENT!! I WILL DEFINATELY USE THIS AGAIN!
