Ukrainian Red Borscht Soup

Really great recipe. My husband and daughter took a very large pot of this to their church and served almost 50 people who were all raving about it. They loved that they had brought something unique and they had a blast serving it. We set out each serving with a dollop of sour cream and sprinkling of parsley and some crusty bread alongside. Thanks for sharing!

Pumpkin Cake III

Took to my sister-in-law's for Halloween dinner. It was perfect. I did it in a bundt pan and frosted it with cream cheese frosting, tinted orange. Great recipe.

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

This was really yummy. I used half the packet of italian dressing powder and added a half cup of milk at the end. I had put the chicken in frozen solid and it cooked perfectly. I shredded the chicken before serving to get more mileage out of it. Thanks very much for a great recipe!

Sweet Dinner Rolls

We just love these! After making a few batches, I decided that to get the perfect size for dinner crescents, roll to 12 inch circle, cut into quarters then cut each quarter into three slices so you have a total of 12 from each dough half. You'll end up with a big basket of 24 not-too-big, not-too-small delicious crescent rolls.

Broccoli Cheese Soup

This is an excellent recipe. I made a double batch of this soup and served it as a starter to our Prime Rib roast Christmas Eve meal for 18 guests. They all raved about it and several asked where I bought it from - lol. I think I followed the recipe exactly but substituted fresh crushed garlic for the powdered. It was easy to make and tasted wonderful. Even all the kids ate it happily. I made it early in the afternoon and then transferred it to my crock pot to keep it hot till dinner time so I was able to tend to the 10 million other things I needed to do that day. Thanks again!

Sugar Cookie Icing

Thank you so much for this easy recipe. I had a kids christmas party today and I did sugar cookie decorating as a craft for them using this icing. The icing was perfect, easy to paint on with pastry brushes, and stayed glossy after. Beautiful! They had such a blast and were so proud of their creations. Thanks again!

Cranberry Apple Pie II

My family really enjoyed this in fact my husband said it was unbelievably good. I thought the filling turned out a little too loose for my liking. It was fine for us, but if I had company, I wouldn't have been 100% thrilled with the presentation. Perhaps it was because of my no-name cranberries or maybe it just needs a little more flour to hold it all together. I'll still try it again. Very yummy. Thanks!

Never, Never Fail Pie Pastry

I've never had trouble making pastry but thought I'd try this one anyway. It was good. The dough was surprisingly wet / sticky, even after 1/2 hour in the fridge. On seeing this though, I just generously floured the board and the top of the dough so I didn't have any sticky accidents. Thanks!

Fruit Dip II

I made this using light strawberry cream cheese. I handed it to the kids after school, with a platter of grapes, orange segments, banana slices and apple wedges. It was gone in minutes. Next time I'll be sure to add a cup of cool whip so I can get a little more bang for my buck.

Lemon Cake with Lemon Filling and Lemon Butter Frosting

I cheated a wee bit and used a packaged lemon cake mix but I did make the lemon filling and the lemon frosting and it was fabulous. I had adults asking for seconds and one commented that she hadn't asked for seconds of cake since she was 10 (and she's 60 lol).

I added cinnamon and pumpkin pie spice. Although it was quite nice and we certainly ate and enjoyed it, I did find this to be quite a dry loaf. I don't think I'll make it again.

Cheddar Quiche

This was quick and easy to make without the fuss of making regular pastry. I wasn't overly thrilled with the Bisquik pastry but as I said, it was a quick and easy trade off. I made this late last night so as to have something to pack in my kids lunches today. I added just cheddar and diced ham and some italiano seasoning blend. My husband had smelled it cooking and requested two slices for breakfast this morning, siting that real men really do eat quiche, so obviously it was a success and I would imagine they will request it again. Thanks for the recipe.
