My mother was from New Orleans, LA. She was a fearless cook. She cooked New Orleans treats as well as international dishes she learned to make as she traveled the world as a Navy wife. She and my grandmother are my cooking heroines! The time I left the giblets in the turkey's neck because I didn't know to look for them there. It really wasn't a tragedy. It was pretty funny when I opened the oven to see a balloon emerging from the turkey's neck! I only made that mistake once! LOL
