Sausage Gravy III

Absolutely Delicious!!! I only used 3 1/2 cups water and also added some thyme (about 1/4 teaspoon) My family loved it especially my 5 year old daughter who had thirds! Can't wait to make this again.

Broccoli Chicken Divan

I really liked this recipe and so did my family. with that said we were all kinda looking for a bit more from it. I had made it for a meal for us and ended up cooking some pasta to put this on top of. Turned out fabulously. Next time I will just mix the pasta in with the rest of it and bake. Thanks for the great recipe.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2010
I made this exactly as directed except I used 1/2 white chocolate chips and 1/2 semi sweet chocolate chips. I was a bit worried at first as the dough is rather thick. But WOW are they good! My family loved them. I will definitely make this over and over again. Thanks for the great recipe!

Southwest Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2010
I made this recipe as stated except I cut up the chicken so I could use it on tortilla shells, 2 cans of tomatoes diced and 1 small can of diced green chilies. It was rather bland at first. So I added chili powder, curry, garlic powder, 1/4 c salsa, pepper, and 1 TBLS of lime juice. Also next time I will make sure to drain my tomatoes or add a thickener as it was really runny for making burritos. Otherwise, my family really liked it and I will definitely make again with some modifications.

Chicken Alfredo

This was pretty good. The only thing I changed was I added 1 cup of milk cuz the sauce was a bit thick otherwise. I also used chopped garlic instead of the powder.

Sunday Best Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2010
I have made this several times and just changed up the fruit depending on the season. I've also used frozen fruits too when nothing looks good in the produce section (or too expensive) Every time I bring this to potlucks, there is never any left and I'm asked for the recipe. This has been an addition to my family's Sunday meal as the kids (husband included) LOVE this. Thank you so much for a quick, easy, and delicious recipe!.

My family didn't like this at all. I made it according to the directions and didn't change a thing. Will not make this again as I'm not even sure where it could be changed.

Beef and Bean Chimichangas

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2010
Unfortunately I didn't realize that my family used all our taco sauce when I started making this. So I followed some recommendations and used 1 package taco seasoning and 1 6oz can tomato sauce. My husband doesn't like green peppers so I used a can of green chilies as well. I also used ground turkey to cut out some of the fat. I didn't add any of the seasoning as I used the taco seasoning. And for ease I added the refried beans to the meat mixture. I also sprayed them and the pan with Pam rather then using butter. My family LOVED these! Will definitely make these again and again! Also had extra meat mixture left that I rolled out and put in the freezer. I can't wait to see how well it turns out after freezing.

Christmas Eve Beef Stew

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2009
I made this for my families Christmas meal. It was really pretty good. I browned the meat in some flour then put everything into the crock pot. Easy to make and everyone liked it. I only gave it 4 stars cuz I thought it could have used a bit more seasoning.

Tacos in Pasta Shells

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2009
Let me tell you my husband was very skeptical at first. He couldn't understand why we weren't just having tacos. But the entire family LOVED it (my husband said this definitely worth the extra steps to make). I did use 2# of meat and 8 oz of cream cheese so that I could use the entire package of jumbo shells. I also couldn't find my chili powder so I used 1 package of taco seasoning instead. Other wise I didn't double anything else. It fit snugly in my 9 x 13 pan. The left overs were delicious the next day too. Thank you so much for the fabulous dish, I will definitely be making this again.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
Oh my goodness! These cookies are GREAT!!! They looked so beautiful coming out of the oven and tasted wonderful. I followed the recipe to the T (minus the sifting my 4 year old daughter "Stirred" it while I mixed the rest) and they were perfect. I usually find a way to mess up chocolate cookies so this is now my go-to recipe.

Sandy's Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2009
My family LOVED this recipe. This is the second time I have made this. I did follow some advice of others when making this. I only had one can of cream of chicken so I used that and one can of cream of mushroom soup. I added about 1/3 cup extra milk, about 1 1/2 cups of frozen mixed veggies, couple dashes of pepper and oregano. I baked at 350 for 40 minutes covered with tinfoil (stirring after 20 minutes) then removed the foil, stirred again, topped with 3/4 c of the cheese and baked again for another 15-20 minutes. It turned out perfectly. The noodles were cooked by doing this without the need to precook them. This is a great basic recipe that you can change to the likings of your family.

Basil Chicken over Angel Hair

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2009
My family loved this recipe! I didn't give it 5 stars just cuz I made some changes to it. I doubled the recipe (I wanted left over sauce for another recipe) After reading some reviews, I added some Italian Seasoning and Oregano. I also used 2- 28oz canned tomatoes. I drained the 1st one and put the other in. When I got the sauce done, I noticed it was a bit runny for my taste. So I added a bit of cornstarch to thicken it some. This was fabulous and I plan on adding it to our menu more often. Thanks for the recipe!

Easy Sugar Cookies

totally don't know what I did wrong. I followed the recipe as it is, but my cookies were flat...not at all like any of the pictures. I tried it a second time and even chilled it in the fridge with the same result. Must be me,cuz everyone else had good results.

Braised Balsamic Chicken

Reviewed: May 10, 2009
This was a good recipe. I added an extra can of tomatoes to make more sauce. I had to cook my chicken longer because I used thick breasts. The only other thing I did differently was add about 2 tablespoons of cornstarch mixed with cold water to thicken the sauce. My family loved this served over angel hair pasta. This was a quick and easy recipe.

Famous Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
I really wanted to make a "fried" chicken recipe without all the oil. I didn't have any buttered flavored crackers so I just used saltines and a bit of flour mixed in. I added paprika, lemon pepper, garlic salt, and pepper to the cracker mixture. I realized after I had the chicken breaded that I was out of butter/margarine so I used some pam cooking spray instead(saved some more calories!!) . Just sprayed down the pan and the side of the chicken that was faced up. I flipped the chicken over a couple of times and put some more spray on as I went. I cooked them for about 50 minutes cause the chicken was very thick. It turned out crunchy and absolutely delicious. my family LOVED it. my husband actually told me I could make this every day if I wanted. Thanks for a great base recipe.

Baked Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2009
I made this for my family before I went to class today. I put in on low for about 5 1/2 hours...boy was it ever dry. I will not make this again. I even put chicken broth in the bottom, onions and garlic in the cavity, and seasonings on top. my poor family choked it down. (at least the kids drank their milk!!) The reason I gave it 2 stars is because it was really nice coming home to a cooked meal and the leftover chicken will make a good soup/casserole
