I am blessed to live about 4 miles from my childhood home with my mother, kids, and grandkids all living nearby. We grow our own vegetables and eggs and have various other pets and livestock. I have a great love for animals and can't imagine life without them. My dogs are among my best friends. I like making desserts as there seems to be less chance for me to mess them up. My confidence level in the kitchen is pretty low. Nothing very fancy. When my girls were little, a friend sold us fresh milk with gobs of cream on top and I used to make ice cream that you could dream about at night! It can still be done with store bought cream, but somehow that just isn't the same. I took two beautiful pumpkin pies to a church supper. They looked just great with perfectly fluted edges but I had forgotten to add the sugar. They were ghastly! A health nut in the congregation got the credit for them. :-)
