About this Cook
I am a college student.
My favorite things to cook
Anything easy, fast, cheap, healthy, and tasty.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We make lefsa at Easter.
My cooking triumphs
I've made several apple pies for my family and my boyfriend. ~*~ My mom has a recipe for Italian sausage tortellini soup that always turns out really, REALLY good. It usually goes pretty quickly.
My cooking tragedies
I came across a cookie recipe that called for a tablespoon of vanilla and made around 12 cookies. I don't know what they were thinking. One of my boyfriend's roommates asked if there was bourbon in them. Now I hear about my bourbon-cookies every time I bring cookies over. ~*~ One of my pie crusts went horribly, horribly wrong. I think may have added too much butter. I think it tastes really dry and icky, but my roommates are eating it and they think it's really good. Go figure. ~*~ My chocolate chip cookies are really good, but not as good as my boyfriend's. He hasn't realized this yet and I need to find a better recipe before he does. ~*~ Chicken is not my friend.

Avocado, Tomato and Mango Salsa
Best salsa I have ever had!! I will make it again! It's fruity, but still spicy. My friend and I made it for a movie night and the only person who said they didn't like it didn't actually try it. :P

Sausage and Mushroom Calzones
Excellent recipe! Tastes great!! I made them with my boyfriend and we added more pizza toppings and veggies. Whatever you put on a pizza you can put in this calzone and it will be amazing!!

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I
This recipe was pretty good! I took the advice of the people who didn't like this recipe and added a little more flour so that they wouldn't flatten as much. I would also make half the sugar brown sugar rather than white. (I didn't do that. I was out of brown sugar, which is why I chose this recipe.) They are a little brownie-ish, but not as brownie-ish if you bake them a little longer.
