this is excellent recipe, I was looking for a recipe that was similar to one we had in a restaurant in Nashville, IN, and this one is great. The one thing I did to change the recipe was to mix cream cheese, powder sugar, and strawberry puree and put between the two layers intead of whip cream, I topped with fresh strawberries and whip cream....it turned out excellent and received excellent comments from those who ate it.

The sauce is excellent and family thought I had spent hours making it. Of all the apple dumplings I have made over the years, this is the best and will stay in my recipe box for many years ahead.
